Situation in 2018 : the Yemen war, which began in March 2015, has seen at least 40,000 people killed. More than 50,000 children in Yemen died from starvation in 2017. Last year, ‘Save the Children’ estimated that 130 children were dying every day because of ‘extreme hunger and disease’. The famine in Yemen is the direct result of the Saudi Arabian-led intervention in Yemen and blockade of Yemen since early 2015.
